Brixham 5-27 DSRFC u16s
5 in a row for the lads!!!!
“Untidy” was the consensus of the players after the match. Not brilliant, not bad but another win so we’ll take it.
Cosmo opened the scoring after 9 mins following some good forward carries, 0 - 5.
10 mins later, Liam scorched down the wing to score after a good period of pressure and a slick backs move. 0 - 10.
Brixham were struggling to keep up with our tempo and fitness and we had a firm grip on the game at this point.
After 23 minutes, Joss skipped through a gap to extend the lead to 0 - 15.
Confusion at the kick off gave Brixham field position in our 22 and after some strong carries they got over the line. 5 - 15.
The rest of the half was sloppy by both sides, but just before half time, Cos scored close in with Joss adding the extras, 5 - 22.
The Brixham coaches dished out a stern halftime chat and they came flying out of the blocks in the second half. We defended well for 15 minutes but just couldn’t exit effectively with strange decisions and some average handling in our 22.
Eventually, we got our structure back and played some nice rugby amongst the “untidy” stuff.
Rob capped a great return with a try in the corner and earned himself Man of the Match.
Haggis earned Dick of the Day by attempting a kick clearance from his own 22 which ended up hitting one of his own players on the back of the head?. 10-27
We’ll discuss that on Thursday!!!
